Kindermusik introduces your child to the joy of music and then encourages him to explore, learn and grow without the pressure to perform, all in an appropriate way for his age and developmental stage, and only under the loving guidance of a trained and licensed Kindermusik educator. The experts at Kindermusik who design the curricula know research shows that music is the only activity that stimulates every area of the brain simultaneously. Thus, parents witness development in a wide variety of areas, such as listening, literacy, coordination and movement, social skills, self control, and of course, musicality.
By adding new concepts and challenges, each age-appropriate class acts as a stepping stone to the next. Starting as newborns, and ending around seven years of age, children grow, learn and master in a loving, supportive environment. Of course, children can begin Kindermusik at any time and blossom. At the end of the Kindermusik journey, children have a love of learning, a love of music, and a confident voice for a lifetime.
Our classes are so much more than just "mommy and me." At Kindermusik, we believe that you are your child's first and most important teacher. As you participate in every step of the learning process, you'll also learn about your child's development and gain a unique sense of community and belonging. And you're provided with hands-on tools to make the most of your precious time together: every Kindermusik semester comes with a unique set of At Home Materials, which includes beautiful literature books, high quality and musically diverse CDs, age-appropriate and specially designed instruments, activity book to spur creative learning at home, and more.
What about music lessons? Music teachers who teach both private instrument lessons and Kindermusik tell us that the children who have had Kindermusik blossom on their chosen instrument because of the strong foundation Kindermusik gives them. Those who start an instrument at age 7 or 8 after completing our Young Child program do just as well, if not better than, those children who start an instrument at an earlier age.
